As you know, the appeal in the Montgomery case was filed on October 8, 2009. At the “Bring Newcomb Home” Homecoming reception held in New Orleans on October 9, 2009, alumnae and supporters came to hear the breaking news about the appeal and what it means to reviving Newcomb College. The enthusiasm for the appeal reverberated throughout the gathering!

John Shreves, of Simon, Peragine, Smith & Redfearn, New Orleans attorneys, presented an overview of the case and the appeals process. The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals will likely hear the case in the Spring of 2010. For more than an hour, supporters asked John questions and offered their views of the case. Sales were brisk for TFoNC merchandise, including “Sophie’s Posse” T-shirts, Newcomb Hall note cards, and Save Newcomb College buttons

This is a true story: One day last week, one of our supporters wore her Save Newcomb College button to her office. Before noon, three people commented on the button and indicated their interest and support for the cause. One of them made a donation!
