BREAKING NEWS: BRIEF MUST BE FILED ON JANUARY 8TH
The New Year will bring early activity in the case to save Newcomb. The appeal in Montgomery v. Tulane is pending in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. The Court has issued its briefing schedule, and yhe plaintiff’s brief will be filed on January 8th. The date for the hearing has not been set, but we will announce it as soon as it is. We anticipate that it will be in the early Spring.

AULD LANG SYNE
The chances are very good that on New Year’s Eve you will be singing at Midnight the old Scottish tune, “Auld Lang Syne.” This year, the words have very special meaning for all of us who love Newcomb.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
For auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup of kindness, yet,
For auld lang syne!
“Auld lang syne” means “for times gone by.” Ironically, the future of Newcomb College relies upon our celebration of times gone by. It is a sad possibility that if the future of Newcomb is lost, the celebrations of its times gone by also will be lost.
As ever, we are determined that this sad possibility will not occur and that the New Year will bring renewal to Newcomb with new opportunities for more Newcomb students to create new “times gone by.”
For Auld Lang Syne, dear friends and supporters of the future of Newcomb College!
Happy New Year!!
